Detection of the latest variant of TDL3 Rootkit

We performed a flash test using the latest variant of the TDL3 Rootkit, for this test we chose 17 standalone Anti-Malware applications and two Complementary Anti-Malware applications.
The test had two phases, On Demand scan and if missed, then the sample was executed in Real Time. All applications were tested within 200 seconds. The latest program versions were used for all tested applications.

We performed a flash test using the latest variant of the HotKeysHook Keylogger , for this test we chose 17 standalone Anti-Malware applications and two Complementary Anti-Malware applications.
The test had two phases, On Demand scan and if missed, then the sample was executed in Real Time. All applications were tested within 180 seconds. The latest program versions were used for all tested applications.

Online Banking / Browser Security Project Results

We are happy to announce the results of out latest test, Malware Research Group Project 025. Project 025 is an Online Banking / Browser Security Test in which we tested 31 security applications devided into two groups.
We conducted initial tests on 21 June 2010 and as of 23 June 2010 we will re run the test every day for twenty nine days, the results will also be updated on daily bases.
We will publish an overall analysis and conclusion of this project on Thursday July 12th.

Microsoft Security Essentials Comparative Review

Malware Research Group has conducted a comparative review of Microsoft Secirity Essensials. In this review we compared Microsoft Secirity Essensials to Avira’s AntiVir Personal and Avast Home Edition. The comparative had three stages:
Real Time System Protection Test: 20 Zero-Day malware samples were used.
Self Protection Test: MRG Self Protection Test Tool V 2.0 was used.
Online Banking Security Test: MRG FM Simulator V1.0 was used.
