TallEmu has been known for producing excellent Firewall/HIPS applications, they are also known to top the results on Matousec leak tests., when you look at is closely the only thing missing was the Anti-Malware scanning support to make it one of the best all around Internet Security Suites.
Well the long awaited step forward has arrived and Online Armor ++ is about to be released. TallEmu has teamed up with Emsi Software and Ikarus and are using their scanning technologies in their new product, Mlaware Research Group has had a pleasure of testing this new product before it was published and we will reveal some of our findings now, more details will be available in our forums.
Our test had three stages:
1. On Demand scan on 78.120 samples of malware (March, May and June)
2. Self Protection test where we used various tools with which we tried to disable Online Armor++
3. System Protection test Online Armor++ was tested in real time against various most dangerous malware samples (better known as System Killers)
Result:
1. Online Armor++ missed only 9 out of 78.120 samples.
2. Online Armor++ blocked all attempts to disable it and its service, blocked 10 out of 10 attacks.
3. Online Armor++ successfully detected and blocked all 15 System Killers (none of the samples was able to run)

After the initial test was completed we carried on with testing Online Armor ++ because one day of testing is never enough to access programs true potential, MRG team tested OA++ for 20 days.

Conclusion:

Online Armor ++ is a full Internet Security Suite capable of protecting even the most demanding users. Its malware protection is just outstanding as it incorporates two very important segments, Emsi Software and Ikarus scanning technology and their own very powerful and effective HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System). well i was a fan of the original with the kaspersky engine the only thing was how heavy it was.

guess i'll have to check this out and see how well it works with my system.

The only concern i have is the FP(s) A-squared and Ikarus are known for. But in their defense, they are working hard on limiting/eliminating them. This Combination will be a powerhouse.
