MRG PUA Flesh Test | MRG Effitas

In response to a number of requests, we have decided to vary todays flash test and so for today only, we have the MRG PUA Flash Test.

Aside from using four samples, the PUA test differs from our other flash tests as it employs a slightly different “pass” criterion.

The security application under test has four opportunities to “pass” with each sample.

1) When the installer is downloaded via Internet Explorer

2) During an on demand scan of the installer

3) When the PUA is installed by executing the installer

4) On execution of the PUA itself

In essence, in order to pass this test, the security application must prevent the PUA being executed on the system.

As with all our flash tests, the results are not intended to be an accurate assessment of a products efficacy, but more as stimulus for discussion.
